"Atmospheric Naturalism" describes the style of my paintings.
Luminosity and depth provide their substance.
Open air within the field becomes my studio, as it did with the great American and Spanish impressionists.
Yet beyond the fleeting effects of light, I seek a tactile sense of space in my paintings, allowing the atmosphere an object occupies to become as palpable as the object itself.
I want the viewer to feel the air in the painting, to be almost able to "breathe" the painting, and thereby know that the painting is alive.
